I am a holistic physical therapist who works with those who are struggling to manage or navigate their chronic health conditions (such as low back pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain) in the confusing and ever-changing US healthcare system. This includes if you have chronic pain, an injury that keeps coming back, or you just keep feeling like you're taking two steps forward and one step back in your health.
When working with those who suffer from chronic pain or other chronic conditions, I often see it affect other aspects of their health, most notably their emotional and mental health. They are stressed, burned out, and desperate for an answer. This then leads to other problems, such as missed work, missed family outings, and generally missing out on life.
I also see these people have tried many, many things. They have taken all the medications, had all the x-rays/MRI’s, they are exercising as much as possible, and have talked to at least a dozen doctors. All of this, and they still don’t have an answer of how to stop the pain.
They are left with the question of “What now?” and “How do I get my life back?”
My sessions focus on getting back your health and your life. I do this by going back to the basics of your health through body work, gentle exercises, and exploration of the other aspects of your health. I provide education on self-advocacy as a patient, health terminology, and the inner workings of the healthcare system.
During our sessions, I may also recommend seeking out other treatments/tests such as acupuncture, psychotherapy, massage, blood work, MRI/x-ray, and hormone panels just to name a few.
Going through your health story and looking at all aspects of your health gives us a bird’s-eye view of the big picture. From there we zoom in on what needs to be addressed first and come up with a plan to do so. We take this personalized journey together, step by step, adjusting the plan as needed and moving towards a better state of health.
Something you should know about me is I have a soft spot for those who have been handed a crap deck of cards in life and strive to rise above what is assumed of them or their potential.
In a nutshell, I am a whole-body practitioner with a deep respect for your individual needs.
This isn’t your grandmother’s physical therapy. This is a mind-body health practice.
For us to work together, the following must be true:
You are open to holistic approaches.
You have 30 minutes, three-four days a week to complete exercises/visualizations that I go over with you
You have 20-30 minutes a day to complete other self care (ex: journaling, breath work, qi gong, etc)
You are available to see me for 90 minute appointments:
Weekly for six weeks
Bi-weekly for another six weeks
Then monthly for an additional nine months
Please note: this is a suggested schedule based on most people’s needs, and it can be changed to meet your needs.
You have a year to work on this process. At this moment it may not feel like you have a year or need a year, and that is very understandable. This is just to say that the process takes time and is rarely solved in a month or two. Depending on your needs, this time frame may vary.
You have the ability to see other practitioners on average four times a month. This is not permanent, however it may take six months of this to meet your needs. An example would be a monthly massage, GP for blood work, and bi-monthly psychotherapy sessions. You may need none or more, but it’s not uncommon to need to see other practitioners to address other parts of your health to fully treat the condition.
You’re not expecting your recovery to be like everyone else’s.
An example of a week of your treatment may look like this:
Sunday:
Rest
Breathwork 5 minutes
Journaling 15 minutes (ex: written, art)

We might not be a good fit if:
You believe that you having it better than others means you can’t have your own difficulties in life.
You believe that trauma from your childhood can’t follow you into your 80’s.
You’re not yet ready to change your environment to meet all of your needs.
You struggle to do a new task for more than three days.
You often find yourself needing to reschedule appointments or frequently arrive late.
You won’t make it a point to find the space and time in your life to focus on your health daily.
You need insurance reimbursement to come through for you to continue working with me.
